AcneIQ provides an AI Skin Scan feature that allows you to take a selfie or upload a photo of your face to analyze your skin conditions and receive personalized product recommendations. We take your privacy very seriously. Below, we describe how we handle, process, and protect your face data in strict compliance with Apple's App Store guidelines:
1. No Retention of Face Data: We explicitly state that AcneIQ does not permanently retain, store, or harvest your face data, facial images, or facial geometry details on our servers or databases.
2. Reasons for Processing Face Data: Any face image you take or upload is processed solely to perform the AI-driven skin analysis (assessing skin type, acne, texture, and goals) and to generate personalized skincare routines and insights. We do not use face data for identification, profiling, marketing, user tracking, or any other unrelated purposes.
3. Retention Period (Length of Time Stored): Your face image is processed transiently. It is held in secure, encrypted temporary memory only for the duration of the active analysis transaction (typically completed within a few seconds to a maximum of 5 minutes to handle network transmission and processing). Once the analysis results are returned to your device, the image is immediately and permanently deleted. We never store face data indefinitely.
4. Sharing with Third Parties: We do not share, sell, or distribute your face data to any third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing companies. For the sole purpose of core feature functionality (AI skin analysis), images are transmitted securely via encrypted HTTPS API endpoints to our enterprise cloud infrastructure and specialized machine learning analysis providers.
5. Reasons for Sharing with Third Parties: This data transmission is strictly necessary to utilize state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning models to generate your skin insights.
6. Third-Party Storage and Privacy Practices: Our underlying enterprise API infrastructure providers operate under strict developer privacy agreements. They do not retain, store, or use your face data or uploaded images for training their machine learning models or for any public distribution. The data is processed strictly in-memory or within transient, secure environments, and is fully cleared immediately after the analysis or compliance monitoring window, ensuring total adherence to our non-retention standards.
